The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. [Q]-signal handling - multi-threaded application on Linux

We have multi-threaded server which creates 4 (say T1, T2, T3, T4) threads and blocks itself in accept() for client connection requests. Whenever new client connection request is received new thread (say T5) is created and same thread (T5) sends SIGALRM to other thread (say T4).
If I try to send another client request within some specific time (honestly I don,t know that time but say e.g. within 5 seconds, now by this time T4 is finished processing the SIGALRM) accept() returns me 0 and sets global error number (errno=EINTR).
accept() returns 0 only at alternate client requests (say for requests 1,3,5 accept() returns valid unused_fd but for requests 2,4,6 I get 0 with errno==EINTR).
