The executable is more than likely k3b in /usr/bin (check using which k3b). I'm guessing that you're using KDE. To add k3b to the K menu, you can right click on the K menu button on the panel and click Menu Editor. Once in the menu editor, right click on the sub-menu you wish to add k3b to and click New Item. Fill in the details on the right and click save at the top. Once you've done this you can right click the panel and select Panel Menu/Add to Panel/Application and browse to where you put k3b. Now you have k3b in both the K Menu and the panel ;)
Best of luck,

You can find out the full path (where the executable is) by using the command:
eyCDA/Dumm iesArticle /id-1917.h tml (Tip 1). <-- solution to the previous question.
$ which k3b
Then you can right click on the panel and add application (by providing the full path). Have a look at http://www.dummies.com/Wil
