What's the ActiveX equivalence in Linux?

Asked by appstar in Linux Programming, ActiveX

Tags: ActiveX, Linux Browser

Hi,

I have developed some app that uses web broswer as user interface with some ActiveX controls, but now I am considering to support web broswers in Linux, what's the equivalence for ActiveX in Linux?

I heard someone said it should be CORBA, if it is, does it mean I have to rewrite all the ActiveX controls?

Is there any other way that is easier for me to support Linux browsers in this case?

P.S. I am not considering using Java Applet to solve this though, and I am not expecting the users in Linux to install any "plug-in" or software to be ActiveX-compliant.

Thanks.
