To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating. - The Grade of the Solution
- The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
- The Number of Author and Expert Comments
- The Number of Experts Contributing
- The Feedback of the Community
Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. I'm new to Linux, any help on this will be appreciated:
I need to run a cron job with a script to collect data and to see if its over 250000, then send out an email, alerting admins to look at the system.
Here is I have so far..with cron job entries, want to run everyday;
crontab -e
0 4 * * * * /usr/bin/serverdata.ksh
export DataCollect=`du -k /opt/server/dataserver/col
lect/ |awk '{print $1}'`
echo $DataCollect
if [ $DataCollect -gt 256000 ]; then echo 'Dataserver collection directory is over 250MB'; else echo 'Dataserver appears to be running as expected'; if [$DataCollect -gt 250000}; then Mailto=my.name@mydomain.co
m
