Inserted objects in table won't stay

Asked by gansett91 in Microsoft Word, General Macintosh Programming

Tags: Microsoft Word 2008 for Macintosh

I am doing freelance work that requires working in tables in Microsoft Word on a Macintosh. I have to insert a large number of objects in the tables...lines, arrows, stars, callouts, textboxes, etc. When I insert one, the size of the cell changes, the inserted object jumps - sometimes to a whole other page - and when I try to drag it back, all of the table settings seem to go berserk. Lines move, cells change, information disappears...it's like trying to nail jello to a tree.

Sometimes, the whole table turns grey and all of the info disappears. Sometimes it comes back when I start typing again; sometimes it comes back on its own.

I would be extrememly grateful for any help!
