The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

I am running a POS program and when I run a report as user fred it makes a report.out file which prints to printer and I can view the report.out file on screen whenever I like and aslo reprint it if necessary.  Each report is made up 3 files; a report.s file which is the SQL script that select those fields from the dabse, report.r file which take the fields from report.s and lays out the report format, and a report.c file which tells which order the 3 files are to be executed, send the report to the printer and make the report.out file.
Iwant to add to the report.c file a script whereby it will 1.  remove any existing report.out file from /usr/internet/ns_httpd/httpd-80/htdocs/report directory
2. copy the new report.out file to the /usr/internet/ns_httpd/httpd-80/htdocs/report directory. 3. chown to root, chgrp  to sys & chmod  to 644.
The object of this is so that users can http from IE in windows and view the files over the network.
The reports are run from the main POS menu, which is only used by normal users and not root.
I have done this at the bootom of the report.c file:
rm /usr/internet/ns_httpd/httpd-80/htdocs/report/report.out
cp /usr/cheshire/boh/report.out /usr/internet/ns_httpd/httpd-80/htdocs/report
chown root /usr/internet etc /report.out
chgrp sys /usr/internet etc /report.out
chmod 644 /usr/internet etc /report.out
Only root/su can do this.  How can I insert this script into the report.c file and have it work
