ksh export variable

I want to use exported variables from one script in another.
Just as an example, there is more to it than this, but these variable are declared in one script.
Does export only make them available within the script?
I want them to be available to other scripts in the same directory, without manually setting them in the shell.

Solaris ksh

#Gives just the month, ie: 07 for July
export CurrentMonth=`date +%m`
#Gives just the day, ie: 03
export CurrentDay=`date +%d`

Create a script that contains the variable definitions you want and then source them from your other script like this:

. /path/to/your/variable_definitions

Exported variables are available to scripts executed from source script.

Example:

$ cat m0
#!/bin/ksh
echo "`hostname` = Hi!"
export curdt=`date +%y-%m-%d`
m1
$ cat m1
#!/bin/ksh
echo "Curr. Date is $curdt"
$ m0
testsrv = Hi!
Curr. Date is 05-01-19

Thanks GRipe,

To test this before, I was executing the script that had the variables and hoping they would be availble to the shell.  But, as you suggested, instead of executing the script with the variables, I had to source it instead.  I will now source the file in the other script.  Thank you
