Need to call sequence of terminal commands upon opening file

I come from a windows dos background and need something like a batch file.

Here is what I type into terminal window:
=================
cd Desktop/javatest
java -jar myJarFile.jar
=================

How can I place this in a file and upon opening it, have my jar file executed with the terminal window active so I can see stdout calls.
