Question

awk problem with variable

Hi, I am having a problem with awk.  The first line below is the code where '$filename' and '$FT' are defined as variables within the script.  Everything worked up to the point of adding the '$FT' variable then I am getting these ugly syntax errors.

/usr/xpg4/bin/awk -F"|" ' { print  "\"16\",""\"\\\\usgsonxxx\\Data\\IP\\SCAN\\'$filename'.pdf\",\""$14"\",\"00001""\",\"xxx""\"
,"$25"\","'$FT'"\","$28"\"}' /tmp/listfinal >finallistnew.txt

/usr/xpg4/bin/awk -F|  { print  "\"16\",""\"\\\\usgsonxxx\\Data\\IP\\SCAN\\45222703.pdf\",\""$14"\",\"00001""\",\"xxx""\","$25"\","UCC CONTINUATION"\","$28"\"} /tmp/listfinal

Can't say for sure without knowing the output but here is an attempt

I am still getting the error.  Here is the output.
