How to find n days back date in Unix with using date command..

Hi ,
I want to find n  days back date in unix ..
date --date="-1 days" +%d-%m-%Y  ---- this works on LINUX. but not work on SunOS (Solaries).
I do achieve this using the script.. but I want to do this by command.
Please suggest.. Thanks !
