Image manipulation command line tool for AIX 6
Hi all,
Looking for some suggestions. What are some good image manupulation utilities for unix (we are on AIX 6). I basically need a command line tool that can resize images proportionally and optimize. (mostly just jpegs).

Yes, they will.
The "5.1" in the name of the package is just an indication what AIX level the package was initially developed for.
I'm wondering a bit myself why neither IBM (toolbox) nor perzl.org would ever change those package names!

Another question.
When we perform the install with all dependent apps installed we are still getting the following error.
root@eva:/usr/inst/ImageMa gick 4361> rpm -i ImageMagick-Q16-6.5.4.2-1. aix5.1.ppc .rpm
error: failed dependencies:
libxlsmp.a(smprt.o) is needed by ImageMagick-Q16-6.5.4.2-1

Hi,
install the fileset
xlsmp.aix53.rte
from your installation medium using "installp" or "smitty install", then issue
/usr/sbin/updtvpkg
to update the rpm database with the information that libxlsmp.a is now installed.
(This is always needed after installing stuff via installp which is also needed by rpm packages).
Now retry!

My only concern those packages are for 5.1. We are on version 6. Will they work for version 6?
