Browse All TopicsI developed an Excel Com Addin. In the past I was able to start the dll in vb and debug it, if excel uses the dll. Suddenly it was impossible. It seems to me, that the dll wasn't used from excel at all, if i start the dll inside vb6 (The addin creates menus in excel. They only appear, if I the vb-project is not running).
I cleared the registry and cleared multiple versions of the dll but nothing fixed the problem. I tried to create a total new dll killing the binary compatibility, but it didn't help as well.
Installing a new PC will work, but this will take a lot of time.
Edit: I use the DLL not only with Excel. Starting it with another application (MS Dynamics NAV) debugging works fine. So it seems to be a bug in the regisrtration of the COM-DLL inside Excel. Does anybody know how to clear every registration-information about COM-AddIns in Excel? The Addin uses an IAddinDesigner to connect. Excel uses automaticaly the dll if I compile it again. After reinstalling Excel the COM-AddIn information was still there.
Any ideas?

It wasn't enough to reinstall ms office.
1) I removed all office files from the harddrive
2) I used an regcleaner in order to remove all left incorrect references
3) I removed every Office-Information in the registry
4) I unregistered my AddIn
5) I restarted the pc
6) I reinstalled Office
7) I recompiled my dll
8) I can continue working
9) !X$%&§! Office ;)
