I told the dialog box worked fine when I tested it as a modal one. I know that Modeless dialog boxes have to be created by calling their create() function.
Sorry for that one.

Browse All TopicsHi,
I have a class derived from CDialog and I implemented it as a modeless dialog box. When I tested it earlier in Modal() state it worked fine but now it doesn't work. It seems that the controls on this dialog box are not sending the messages. I have a list box control on this dialog and whenever any selection change occur I was trapping OnSelChange() function but now after making it modeless this function is not getting called. The parent Window which creates this modeless dialog box is also derived from CDialog() but it is running as a modal.
What can be the problem???

Yout modeless dlg should receive messages in the same way as when running modal -- unless you are doing something unusual.
Please post code here if you want us to have any chance of solving the problem.
We'll need the code used to instantiate and create the modeless dlg and (probably) the entire code of the dlg module itself.

You made a mistake, Modeless dialog don't use Modal(), you have to create() in constructor then show it, like this
AfxGetMainWnd ()->EnableWindow (FALSE);
Create (IDD_COMPILEDOWNLOAD);
ShowWindow (SW_SHOW);
you can use it :
CYourDialog dlg;
after you finished, you have to call these:
AfxGetMainWnd ()->EnableWindow (TRUE);
dlgCompDown.DestroyWindow ();
