The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

Can you stop user from cancelling a printing Access 2.0 report?

I use access 2.0.  I use an Access program to print receipts.  I print a receipt using:

DoCmd OpenReport reportName, A_NORMAL

I posted this question on the Access forum but it seems to be beyond the power of VBA to get it done.

Access opens a box that says "Now printing" while it sends the job to the printer.  I do not want that box to show up, or at the very least, I want the cancel button to be disabled.

I could automatically reprint if I get a 'report cancelled' error (2051) but I also get that error if the printer is out of paper, so re-printing is not a good idea.  Besides, the user might already be doing something else and also that 'Now printing" box is distracting.

The perfect answer will be
A AND (B OR (C AND D AND E) OR (F AND (G OR H))) AND NOT I

Where:
A) 16 bit (access 2.0)
B) prevents the window from appearing
C) disables the cancel button
D) repaints the sometimes screwed-up  currently active form
E) does not consume any keystrokes
F) lets window appear but without focus G) behind current form
H) minimized
I) Avoid timer solutions that work only after a certain amount of time failing the other conditions.  

PS: The first person that provides the code for an Access 2.0 solution will get a $100 check from me, since I can't figure this one out.  Please do not flame me if you think the gratitude is out of place.
