The problem is that your programm not pump the message map.
You can use a thread. You write a thread-methode where you place your
main routine.
So the window messages are handeled by the primary thread.

Second solution you pump the message-map.

In your code whereever your function is entering data which is taking time to process.
Add a PeekMessage().
For example if your OnOK() is having all the code of data entry then do the following

int i = 0;
void CNetSendsDlg::OnOK()
{
      // TODO: Add extra validation here
      MSG message;
      int j = 10;
      UpdateData(TRUE);
      j = m_NoOfTimes;
      for (i = 0; i < j; i++)
      {
//Your Data Entry

....
....
....

            if(::PeekMessage(&message, NULL , 0, 0, PM_REMOVE))
            {
                  ::TranslateMessage(&message);
                  ::DispatchMessage(&message);
            }
      }

      CDialog::OnOK();
}

Try the following, nice easy thread using AfxBeginThread.

UINT MyThread( LPVOID pParam )
{
      TRACE(_T("Start of thread\n"));

      for( int iCount=0; iCount<10; iCount++ )
      {
            TRACE(_T("In thread\n"));
      }

      TRACE(_T("End of thread\n"));
      return 0;
}

void CTestDlg::OnButton1()
{
      TRACE(_T("Execute thread\n"));
      AfxBeginThread( &MyThread, 0, THREAD_PRIORITY_NORMAL, 0, 0, NULL );
}

Create a thread like this:

Add a CWinThread member to your window class:
CWinThread            *m_pWorkerThread; // Initialize it to NULL in the constructor
... and add a static member function:
static UINT Worker(LPVOID pParam);

Create a struct of data that should be accessible in both your window and your worker thread.
Something like this:
class CSharedData
{
public:
    CWnd    *m_pWnd;   // pointer to the window
    // a.s.o...
};

We need a CSharedData member variable in the window class:
CSharedData    m_sharedData;

Now, call the thread like this:

if (m_pWorkerThread == NULL)
    m_pWorkerThread = AfxBeginThread(&Worker, &m_sharedData); // don't remember the parameters

Inside CYourWindowClass::Worker(LPVOID pParam) you do those time consuming calculations, and your window will not stop responding like you mentioned. You can convert LPVOID-parameter to a CSharedData pointer like this:
CSharedData *pSharedData = (CSharedData*)pParam;

Note that using threads requires synchronization calls. I suggest you take a look at Microsoft's sample called "ReCalc".

Chris
