Browse All TopicsI am interested in experimenting with computer generated music. I will have multiple sets of input data with values from 0.0 to 100.0 and I want to convert this data to multiple voices that play at the same time - like piano chords.
The input data is generated on the fly using a mathematical algorithm.
I need sample code to get me started in C or C++ and be able to run under Win95/98/NT. I have seen DirectSound mentioned in postings but have never used it. If DirectSound can do what I want, then that would be fine for sample code.
I don't want to play WAV files since the input data is not in that format - it is basically three streams of numbers from 0.0 to 100.0 generated on the fly.
I will award the most points for the best succinct sample code (and for multiple entries may choose to award points by posting them to the users name). A mapping from my input range to the frequencies used by a piano would work as long as that can be played on the computer - Can DirectSound do this?
Thanks for your help!
