Question

"Symbol file could not be found" error when running WinDbg

I have written a service which I want to debug.  I am using WinDbg to attach to the service process.  When I do this, I always get the error, "*** ERROR: Symbol file could not be found.  Defaulted to export symbols for C:\WINDOWS\System32\ntdll.dll -
ntdll!DbgBreakPoint."  

I have set up the Symbol File Path to point to my debug folder which contains the .exe, .pdb, .obj files.  I have also added the vc96 bin folder and the ms sdk bin folder to the path.  What file is WinDbg looking for?
