Using Winrar
I have never used winrar and I have a file with the .rar extention that has 3 items, two I want to place in a folder on my XP machine and one needs to be burned to a CD. How do I do this? I downloaded Winrar.

after downloading you must install it of course! :)
1) Anyway, after that open WinRAR and go to File > Open Archive.
2) Select the .rar file you have. Now you should see the three items in the WinRAR window.
3) Select the two items that go into a folder and click Extract To button at the top. In the window that opens select the folder in the panel on the right where you want to extract and click OK.
This should place the two items into that folder. To burn the one item do this:
1) select it in WinRAR and extract it to a folder (your desktop maybe) as outlined above.
2) Use whatever CD burning program you use (Nero Burning ROM maybe) to burn the file to the CD.
