Browse All TopicsHello all,
I am looking for a simple backup batch procedure that will copy a given directory to another drive and put it in a folder with the current date. For example lets say C:\Data would be copied to D:\Nov212005\ . The part that I cannot get is the current date and how to put it into a directory name. Anybody out there know of the simplest way? I plan on using scheduled tasks to copy our data daily.
Thank You Very Much!

depending on what your regional settings are you could just use
xcopy c:\data d:\%DATE%
If your regional settings are set to display the date in mm/dd/yyyy you will end up with a few subdirectories. I set my date format to dd-mmm-yy and it works .
