The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

The general workings of an exe, and introductory theory behind it

Asked by figmit in Theory, MySQL Server, Python Scripting Language

I am beginning to work with python in windows, and understand the essential concepts (object, module, class, function etc).  What I dont understand is what happens inside the computer when I make an exe (I haven't actually made one myself yet).

Lets say someone writes python code that usespython together with mysql and wxpython.  The application works on their system obviously, but when you make an exe, are you literally talking classes/modules from mysql and wxpython and putting them into your exe?  If this is the case, is there any limits to what software can get "embedded" like this. Say for example I dont want to be restricted to the formatting of wxpython buttons, and i use flash instead for my interface.  Firstly, is this even possible, and second if it isnt, is it because Adobe has encrypted something or because its simply impossible because abobe objects arent compatible to go into an exe?

Also, if i download some sort of extensions then use them in my exe, say some sort of imaging library, can the downloader figure out exactly all the libraries the exe uses?  I'm wondering also how an exe relates with .dll and .bat files (or others im missing). I've downloaded exes that down extract any other files (i think?), what is the process here?

In general, I need some initial guidance about how the pieces are fit together as a whole before exploring any of them in depth. thanks!
