Running Mercury Quality Center/Test Director

I downloaded Mercury Quality Center. I start it and it goes to a
browser and gives the options:

Quality Center
Site Administration
Add-Ins Page
Readme

When I click on Quality Center, at different times, I get different
things. For example, first time I got:

Following client components were not downloaded successfully:
1.QCClientUI.TdFrameX
...
..
I get several components like that.

Sometimes I get:
DAX Error:
Access violation at address ....'QCClie~1.ocx'

and sometimes I get a screen with:
Administrator
Password
Domain
Project

I can enter values for Administrator and Password and then I can
click Authenticate. However, Domain and Project are disabled.
I would appreciate it if anybody could shed some light on this.

You might want to complete the Intro to Quality Center 8.0 using TestDirector Computer Based Training Trial
available as free download (after reg.) on http://support.mercury.com

Other advise ,try to download the last version with the latest bugs fixed /check Your version for the time limit.
It should be the demo if it's available for the free download.
The last piece of advise,it could interefere with Your already installed OCX components ,THOSE PROBLEMS SHOULD BE FIXED IN WINDOWS XP SP 2

I think I installed the Intro to Quality Center  8.0 using TestDirector Computer Based Training Trial. As fars as Mercury Quality Center, should I uninstall and reinstall it?

The OCXs for QC have not completed loading correctly.  This happens because of two reasons.  

1) You did not login to your PC with an account that has admin access.  
2) The OCXs are being accessed by another program like Outlook.  

Work around is easy.  Select the "Addins Page"  link and select "Mercury Quality Center Client Side Setup" or something close depending on QC version.  Download and install the addin from an account on your pc that has Admin privileges.  You may have to restart your pc.  Connect back to QC and select "Quality Center" link.

You should not reinstall QC.  Should work fine, I would suggest you get any patch updates.  
See my suggestion regarding your PC client that should resolve your issues.
