The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How to improve my work by software design

Asked by turbot_yu in Software/Systems Design, Windows ATL / WTL / COM Programming, Design & Methodology

As I go further into programming, met some problems as I was from electrical background

1)when design some complex software, my brain not enough to use. Such as clients-servers system, servers with different switchover scenario...
Alway found some thing missing when work is ending. Then have to make big changes. I always work out several versions before publishing. Look into UML or RUP, still too big for me.

Too many sub program, naming issue. Sometime program too big, sometime too small, have too many small program.

2) Testing is complex, not follow any rules, just follow the function one by one.
Alway found new bugs on site.

3) When in the design, alway think easy, no much need to think, quickly enter the stage for programming, at the 1st stage of programming, works out a lot everytime, but after that, become more and more slow, because, some part need to re-write, some part need to be cooperation with other guy's testing, while the guy is always busy :P, then efficient drop, althrough sometimes seem free and not much to do as the starting stage, time is wasted, actually still much thing to do. Then spend 5x time than expected. Working is harder

Is the any cource, online better, any reference or ur precious experience can teach me about it. Grateful for your help.Start Free Trial
