Looking for advice from an e-commerce designer

When charged with the task of creating an e-commerce site, is it better to create your own shopping cart/third party payment gateway or better to go with a third party solution altogether? Seems to me like the former is more manageable and, of course, reusable. Any advice?Start Free Trial
