Blackberry wont quit reconciling/redirecting folders

Hi, I have a 7290 with BES  and wireless reconciliation active. Running Exchange 2003 with Outlook Clients. I have about 10 folders of email in my Outlook.  There are a couple folders that i DONT want to sync up on my Blackberry.
On my desktop manager I click on 'Redirector Settings' and then on the 'Advanced' tab.  under 'Folder Redirection' i click 'choose folders', i then UNCHECK the folders that i dont want to redirect.  But the emails just keep on reconciling on the Blackberry!!!

Help?!

Thanks.

It sounds like these settings aren't making it back to your BES.  From your BES server open the properties window under your account and make the redirection changes from there as a test.
I think garycutri is right. I think you may need to cradle the device to make the changes using the desktop re-director.

thanks for the help,
garycutri: on the bes server i see the "blackberry handheld configuration tool" but i dont see the setting there.  could you elaborate on where it is?

mass2612: I actually made the changes with the device cradled using the desktop manager software.

On the BES server you need to open the server manager and then double click on your username, you will see the settings on the 2nd or 3rd tab.

should i have the blackberry handheld plugged directly into the server via USB?
No, just open blackberry manager on the server and open the properties on your username.  You will see the second tab is "Redirection" and from that tab go to "Folder Redirection” and select the folders you wish to sync.

Thanks, but unfortunately that did not work.  I have the folders unchecked, but they still continue to sync!  ideas?
I would set the redirection back to default (inbox & Sent) and see if that works, if that is OK then add the extra folders back in.  If that fails try erasing the device and then reactivate.

Garycutri: thanks again for the help.  I set the redirection back to default: didn't help.  I then wiped the handheld, reloaded software, and did a fresh enterprise activation:  that didnt help EITHER!  i'm at wits end here.  any other ideas?

Normally as a "last resort" I would remove the desktop software from your system (Desktop Manager) and then delete your account from the BES.  Once you have done this wipe the device and reactivate it.
Also make sure you update your BES to the latest service pack.  Also a server restart does wonders for BES issues.

thanks again for the help.  i have not installed ANY of the service packs.  which one should i start with?
They are actually accumulative so you can install the latest SP for your version of BES as it includes all the previous fixes.
How did you go with your issue?

Hi Gary-  sorry, I have gotten side-tracked on another issue, but i DID install all the BES fixes and they didnt help.  I havent yet deleted and re-created the user.  i'll do that next and post back.
If you end up using Desktop manager to activate the device make sure you go to Options and Connection settings in DM and press detect (with the device connected).  Once it has completed select USB:<DEVICE PIN> and you should be right to go.  It would be best to remove and re-add the user into the BES first and make sure you are logged on as the end user before trying the steps on Desktop Manager.

Hi Jamielthompson- thank you VERY MUCH for this suggestion!!!  i have been all over my blackberry and not noticed this option.

I went ahead and changed the settings and it has properly STOPPED redirecting!  BUT I am still having a problem..

However, Your input has made me realize that perhaps I am asking the wrong question.  i am going to award points on this one and start a new question.
