ABIT KT7

I gotta problem here and I would like to hear your oppinion about that. If you answer I will increase the points to 200 and give them to you. So the prob...
I had my Abit KT7 running just fine wwith the WW bios version but I flashed the BIOS with the new firmware WZ and when i set the memory clock to HOST+PCI the pc can't boot.
My configuration is:
mobo - Abit KT7
memory - PQI PC133 7.5ns (works on 149+ Mhz)
vga - ASUS v7100t
hdd - IBM 15GB (old 5400rpm/512kb cache)
sound - SB Creative PCI 128
modem - internal Lucent 56k(PCI)

what is the question?
do you want to recover the old bios?
or do you just want to reboot?
Well, the first thing you should do is to use the "clear cmos" jumper.  this is labeled ccmos, and it is next to the southbridge chip.  what you do is move the jumper one pin over so it covers the other jumper as well as the center.  leave it for like 5 seconds, then move it back to its original position.  You should now be able to boot your computer.
now, when you reboot, you go into the bios and make sure that all your CPU and Bus speeds are correct.  they revert to the defaults when you flash the bios.
Third, what kind of SDRAM are you using?  if it isn't pc133 or if it is extra cheap generic ram, it may not support pc133.  you should try one of the other settings and scale it back a bit.
here is a wonderful site for everything you ever wanted to know about your KT7.
good luck!
FYI, you may also be able to just hold the Insert key when booting, this will automatically revert CMOS settings to their defaults with this board.

i did everything that you said
the point is that the new bios has several new optios that i need bot when i turn the host+pci the computer hangs up just after it checks the memory ("196608 OK").
my memory is PQI PC133 7.5 ns (just like i told you before - it is a brand)
try a different stick of pc133
or just run the memory at 100 mhz
if it is hanging right after it checks the memory, what does that tell you?
oh yeah, i see the link for the kt7 info didn't post.
here it should be
http://www.viahardware.com/faq/kt7/kt7faq.htm
good luck

PQI? Can't say I've heard of them before...I'd say your RAM is bad, or at least won't function properly at the speed it is supposed to.  Are you overclocking the FSB at all?  does it work if you set the memory clock to host only (i.e. 100MHz)?

yes the computer is working just fine right now... except of that these 33 MHz are a lot of performance that now i don't have
the memory is very good
it is rock stable even at ~150Mhz which means no, absolutely no hang ups during a 48 hours without restarting (usually i don't turn it of leaving it to work on the seti program)
the memory has lifetime guaratee (it means something)
currently i am not overclocking anything
You say it runs stable at ~150MHz...is that the vendor's RAM in general that a hardware review website tested, or your specific sticks?  Did you try adjusting the memory interleave to 4 way, or turn the timing down from Turbo to Medium or Fast (dunno if these options are on your board, my Abit KA7 has them)?
Also, have you tried the YH BIOS (ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/bios/kt7/kt7yh.exe) its newer than the WZ.
There are quite a few others here:
ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/beta/kt7/bios/
What is your CAS latency set to, 2 or 3?

You may also want to seek help at the HardOCP forums (www.hardforum.com).  Those guys know these systems inside-out.

Also from the KT7 WZ BIOS Readme:
!WARNING!

If you are not sure the current CPU fan is correctly on fan
header #1, DON'T UPDATE TO WW PLEASE! The header #1 is closer
to memory sockets while header #2 is closer to CPU socket.
Wrongfully update to WZ may cause system never boot up again
unless you connect a suitable CPU fan on header #1.

That should be "DON'T UPDATE TO WZ PLEASE!"

i'm tierd of this
do you know what a 4 way interleave means
i f***in know! and of course i have tested the memory myself (that's kinda hobby to me)
i'm giving the points, coz you are not reading what i already typed...
Well that's fine...I was just wanting to make sure that the actual stick of RAM you're using was tested to 150 or whatever (not that brand/model).  You don't need to get all pissed off about a question.  Also, you may note that I suggested the YH BIOS as a solution.

Whatever.
