How to do a Live Webcasting?
What hardware and software do I need to do a Live Webcast?
Well, obviously you need some sort of video or audio input device. The device depends on what you want to broadcast. If youre doing video/audio to a large number of clients you will need a dedicated server with QuickTime Streaming Server which is free and available for all the major platforms. You will also need some heavy bandwidth. How extensive do you want to get? Audio + Visual? How many clients?

Very extensive. I what to broadcast small concerts, night club scene. What video input device do you recommend. I want the best quality for a small setting of about 100 to 200 hundred people.

Your information has been very helpful. It definitely has lead me in the right direction. Although I am not a Mac user. I can apply the same concept in a pc enviroment. Thanks for your comments. I know your a Mac guy and I probadly know your answer, but what the hell. Do you have any suggestions for a pc? I have the equipment (servers and disk space) and the building is already wired. Does QuickTime Streaming Server work with Windows?
The darwin distribution of QTSS will work with OS X, Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD, NT, and Win2k. Don't really have any ideas on PC hardware. Obviously QTSS was built with Mac hardware in mind and i havent seen any specs comparing its performance on different hardware/OS combinations.
