Belkin KVM Switch and RedHat 9.0
I have a belkin 4 port Soho kvm switch that I just got....
I have 2 PC's hooked up to it one is an XP machine and one is a Redhat 9.0 machine. The XP machine works great with it but when I switch to the Redhat machine it doesn't like that...and the mouse bugs out and I little control of the mouse.
BUT when I start up the redhat machine up and do not switch between computers via the KVM switch , it works fine.
WHat should I do??

what do you mean by "bog"?
The mouse I have is a usb mouse with a PS/2 converter.

LOL sorry
"bog standard" is an english slang term
I mean a simple (cheap) ps2 mouse (with a ball and two buttons) :0)

the mouse it pretty simple,
is was thinking that maybe because it has that USb to ps/2 adapter, is the cause of the problem.
Is that possible....its a microsoft optical mouse, with 2 buttons and the wheel... can the fact that it is using the adapter be the problem in when using it in linux?

What about if I change the driver to a generic driver in RedHat, maybe that will worK?

I know I sypathise, dropr the USB first!
That may well cure the problem
Ive got a LidyCPU switch that cost over £200 and It will go mental with my Logitech Trackball OR a M$ intellimouse
Ive seen a lot of posters on the site with problems running mice through KVM switches, I DONT think a different Linux driver will help, but Ill be happy to be proved wrong :0)

Well Pete,
I didn't read the link above, but I would say that you are proven wrong.
I changed the driver from a (PS/2 wheel mouse driver) to a PS/2 2 button mouse and it seems to be working fine. Granted I cannot use the wheel, keeping the mouse and having it work correctly is more important to me...
Thanks for all the help.
