Backup options for SunFire V100
I have two SunFire V100 with USB interfaces, no SCSI. One IBM Ultrium LTO tape drive connected via ultra-SCSI to a IBM XSeries server.
I would like to be able to perform level 0 ufsdumps to tape, or via disk to tape, may be use Flash archive backup/restores.
What options to I have? Is there a locally attached option, or do I need use a remote backup option of NFS drives for example.

> You can't run ufsdump (or dump on Linux for that matter) on an NFS mounted file system
I remember I did a hack to under /dev to make a symbolic from /dev to /nfs-mount
while I used amanda backup.

Anyway, the way you provided is the right way.

I'm a newbie at this company and they've recently re-installed everything on the network. So not sure what's available. Now i have some pointers, I'll find out more next week.
Remote backup.
What backup application do you use?
A lot of backup application such Vertias/Lagatos support remote backup.
All you need is install the backup agent on SunFire V100.
Use NFS to mount the disk to IBM xSeries server (Unix /Linux) is also an alternative.
