How many fax machines sold each year?

The question isn't supposed to get a concrete answer, it is supposed to get you thinking. You in turn are supposed to answer back

"Do you mean just new ones, or do you mean used as well?"
"Are you talking just in one specific region, or do you mean around the world?"
"Are you talking one particular brand, or do you mean all fax machines?"

The idea of these questions is to see if the interviewee has some brains and can actually think for themselves. Next time you are faced with such a question, ask enough questions back that they will know that they are dealing with someone who can think on their feet.

I understand that, I'm JUST CURIOUS. The interviewer mentioned that there was a definite answer.
