MS Server 2003 Standard with 4Gb of physical RAM only shows 3Gb available. Where is the other 1Gb?

I have an IBM Blade Server with 4 blades (2 x 3Ghz Xeon, 4Gb RAM each).  I just installed the Server 2003 Standard edition on them and for some strange reason it only shows 3GB of RAM available on all of them.  However when the server boots up it shows  4GB of physical RAM.  Also I used CPUZ utility to get specs of the system to double check and it also shows 4GB total and 1Gb for each RAM module. The task manager shows 3GB available as well as My Computer -> Properties screen.

There is no "/3Gb" switch in the "boot.ini" file if you thought that first.

I want to know where the rest of the memory is...?

I seem to have the same issue with my Dell 6650 servers too.  So I do not believe it is a hardware issue.

edit your boot..ini file to include /3GB /PAE and you will use all the RAM installed on your server.  4GB is all that is addressable by default in 32bit Operating Systems.
could you guys explain a bit more ... or post up a link for me to read ... this sounds interesting ...
