How to install IIS 6.0 on Windows XP Professional

Hi:

I'd like to install IIS 6.0 on Windows XP. First I'd like to download IIS 6.0 from Microsoft website. But I couldn't find it. If you know how to get IIS 6.0 and to install it on XP Professional with SP2. If I've MS Visual Studio .NET 2003, can I get the IIS from this suite?

Thank you very much,

somits

IIS 6.0 does not seem to be designed for use on XP.  You need Windows Server 2003. See this page:

http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsServer2003/iis/default.mspx
Lee is right.. If you want to run IIS, you need 2003 server to do it..  here are some FAQs on IIS:

If you want to run IIS 6.0 !!  :)  (forgot the version number!)

Hi:

So, I cannot install IIS 6.0 on XP. Thanks a lot for helping me to figure out this. From leew, it seems that I can install IIS 5.1 on it. IF I want to install IIS 5.1 on XP, what I should do? Where I can get it and how I can install it.

Thank you very much,

somits

It must be installed via Add/Remove Programs in  Control Panel.  See this page:

FYI

if by chance you have XP 64b version, it DOES have IIS ver 6.0 in it.
