Looking for alternative anti-virus to Norton & McAfee
I just purchased a new computer for myself for the first time in several years, and I am looking for a
non-Norton, non-McAfee anti-virus package.
(I've used both in the past, and while they are good, I have found them to not play well with other
apps from time to time.)
Any recommendations would be much appreciated. I am open to more than just freeware/shareware--
I do not mind paying for a package, if it is delivering good value.
(BTW, I am planning to install Sybot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware; am I missing something?)
Regards,
Patrick

Thanks everyone!
As it turns out, the system (unexpectedly) came with Norton AV 2005 with six-months' worth of updates.
So, for now, I guess I will let Norton run and see if it causes conflicts. Once the subscription runs out,
I will likely switch to one of the alternatives you all pointed out.
Still in the process of setting it up..
Best regards,
Patrick
