Sharing files, folders and drives on wireless network

I have got a broadband package and shared amongst with my friends. All of my friends using the line can access the internet. But now I am planning to share files , folders, and drives on the wireless network. How to setup the network. Any suggestions.

Open up file sharing on your systems and share a folder. Not the smartest thing to be doing for security reasons though. As long as your on the same LAN then you should be fine.

I tried sharing but when i come and try to check it on another computer I dont see the computer as well as its shared file and folders.
try going to start, run and typing \\computername\share

Also turn off the firewalls on the machines doing the file sharing
when i typed in , its said that "The network path was not found".
Are your systems on the same LAN connection?

I am a newbie and not an expert on networking. So, the first thing is I got replies from only one out of two while pinging on to their ip address.
Active firewalls, on one side or the other?
Can you tryp to do the start / run // \\Ip on the machine answering the ping?
Yes tried with the firewall active and again with firewalls setting to disabled. Its just the same. I can access only on one of the computers.
can you ping all the systems?
Not all. I get request time out on some and get reply from one.
On the systems that you don't get a reply from, make sure their firewall is turned off and you do have file and print sharing checked on the interface that's getting the IP, (wireless I assume)
Where shoud i check for the file and print sharing interface
Right click on My Network Places and goto Properties, then when your in Network Connections, Right click on the Wireless Connection and click on Properties, you will see a few boxes and one will have File and Print Sharing. Make sure that is checked and also make sure that your Firewall is DISABLED.

Yes done that. Now where can i go to view the shared items on my pc.
Double Click on My Computer and you will see your drives, if you want to share your entire C drive then right click on it and click on Sharing and Security. From there you set your shares. If you don't want to share your entire drive then go into your C drive and find the folder you want to share and do the same thing.
Ok, after that. In order to view the shared drive of another computer on my computer, where must i go. And after that how can i make my connection secure, whilst sharing the files and folders at the same time

I have named the network with the default name i.e. MSHOME. How can I change the workgroup name.
I have got every computers networked and shared file and printing on all of them. On one of the computers I have connected a printer and from my computer I tried to print a document. When i went to the print option and under find printer, it showed me the message "the directory service is currently unavailable", and was unable to access the printer. Any suggestions.
