Objective: Migrate email messages from Outlook Express 5 (on an old W98 PC) to Outlook Express 6 (on a new XP PC).<br />

1) I used the File, Export facility on OE 5, and it copied the messages to a file that I subsequently had to find myself - it didn't ask me what folder to write them to. Odd?<br />

2) Copied this file to a USB memory stick, and transfered it to the new XP machine.<br />
<br />
3) Started OE 6, did File, Import and the wizard listed a number of email client message formats to import from. It listed OE4 and OE6, but not OE5 ?!<br />

I tried selecting OE4, but got nowhere.<br />

Then tried selectiing OE6, Main Identity. But, when I pointed it to the folder on the USB stick containing the emails exported from OE5, it said there's nothing there.<br />

MS should have made this migration job as easy as falling off a log - why else should we have to pay monopoly prices???<br />
