The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Web application not executing Session_Start and Application_BeginRequest methods

I just migrated my web application from ASP.NET 1.1 to 2.0, and I'm finding from the debugging trace that the application isn't executing the Session_Start or Application_BeginRequest methods in the Global.asax file. Does anybody know what's going on?

Other details that might be relevant: I already tried re-uploading the Global.asax file and that didn't help. I'm also in the process of manually removing the inherits attribute from the @Page directive in each of my web forms files (as per http://www.experts-exchange.com/Programming/Languages/.NET/ASP.NET/Q_22764080.html), including Global.asax. That didn't make a difference either.

Visual Studio 2005 doesn't report any Errors, Warnings or Messages regarding the Global.asax.cs file, but it reports the following with regards to my Global.asax file: Error C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\KJI2.0\Global.asax: ASP.NET runtime error: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\KJI1.1\'. However, I believe this only refers to my local machine, and I'm running my application on a hosting company's remote server.
