The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Sorenson Squeeze can't encode DIVX/XVID when running in the background on Win 2003

I am using Sorenson Squeeze to do automated encodes on Windows 2003. A Perl script running as SYSTEM calls Squeeze via the command line to do an encode. If the source video is using XVID or DIVX codecs Sorenson cannot encode the video.

If I sign on to Win2003 as a regular user and call the same Perl script from the command line, Sorenson has no trouble using the XVID/DIVX sources. After troubleshooting it seems the only way it can encode these videos is if the Sorenson application window is actually brought up on a screen for someone. This does not happen with other codecs like AVI or WMV.

How can I fix this so SYSTEM can encode these files in the background?Start Free Trial
