iPhone 3G newbie, help with sounds, please.

I just purchased the iPhone 3G. I have over 25 custom ringtones I created with my sound editor. It was simple to load them into my old Samsung and choose them as a ringtone even though they were not in a ring tone folder. iPhone techs tell me I can not add these to my ringtones folder. They also said that the iPhone will not allow you to choose your music as a ringtone, only what is in the ringtone folder. They mentioned there may be a 3rd party app to allow me to do so.

I have also tried to drag and drop mp3's from my computer onto my iPhone, through iTunes but it doesn't seem to work. I must be doing something wrong. Help, please. Thanks.

Any sites I, as a newbie, could go to to get me up to speed easily on the iPhone? Especially, the many apps that are good ones?

Can you recommend some links/sites to cool 3rd party apps that do all kinds of useful, as well as, cool stuff?

You can do it all with iTunes, but if you want to spend 7.50, thats up to you. Well theres not much out yet for 3G because its so new, I would check ziphone.org for updates.
