Samba doesn't see some folders

Hi,

I installed samba 3.0.28 on linux server and everything work fine is just that some folders are on showing in Windows. I checked on the server and the folders have the same permissions like the one that are ok. I moved the folder to another location and now it shows. I don;t know how many are not showing correctly, there are a lot of files on the server.

Does anybody have an idea what is wrong as i don't want to move files around to fix the issue?

Thanks,

Steli

There is some truth in that. One of the folders with the issue had a long name without any spaces. i just split the name in different words keeping all the characters and it worked. the thing is that it wasn't that big so Windows will not recognize it.

When I moved them I changed the folder name. I didn;t mention that before I installed samba only users with mac computers were accessing  the files and creating directories with NETATALK. The folder names contained ":", "#", not readable for windows.

Thanks.
