Reinstall Active Sync
Hello is their a way to reinstall ActiveSync in Exchange 2010?
ASKER
Hey Alan,
We have a brand new exchange server setup, and I tried to remove and rcreate the VD but ran into problems.
For one I removed it with IIS instead of PS. Since doing with IIS when I try to remove it, it says it does not exist. When I try to readd it under PS I get the following:
PS] C:\Windows\system32>New-Ac tiveSyncVi rtualDirec tory dmron\Microsoft-Server-Act iveSync
The virtual directory 'Microsoft-Server-ActiveSy nc' already exists under 'TREM-EX1.tremron.local/De fault Web Site'.

Have you run the command suggested above?
Remove-ActiveSyncVirtualDi rectory -Identity "Microsoft-Server-ActiveSy nc (Default Web Site)"
If not - please do.
Does it run happily?

It ran Happily, and I was about to recreate it, but another admin, had contacted MS and I guess is on the phone with their support team, so I could not finish. I will let you know what happens. Thanks a lot.
Oh well - it should be a simple (but costly fix with MS).
At least it will get resolved one way or another.
Thanks for the points and have a good weekend.

Yea exactly@alan. I thought it was a pretty simple fix, I just did not know that PS and IIS kind of created their own seperate VD's.
Thank you for the answer, it was awesome.
Thank you for the answer, it was awesome.
They are one and the same - just easier to manage via PS than IIS sometimes.
Fingers crossed you can get Activesync working happily soon. If not - come back for further help.

Hey alan, MS refunded our Tech Support Call because they did not really do anything. I gave my boss the command to run right before he got on the phone with them. Thank you once again!
Well done - that is good news.
Win - Win : )

ASKER
yea I did not think he ran it, but he was like yea that command you gave me, had AS running, so they only did minor things. Your Answer just paid for the EE membership!
Excellent! I am glad I was able to help you and thanks for keeping me posted.
Hope to catch you again.
