The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Help with virus that has red circle with white x in the task bar

I opened a email i thought was a ecard from a family member and when opened prompted to download something and did so with out thinking about it.  This caused my computer to restart and when it rebooted i had a red circle with a white x in my task bar with the other programs that were running.  a bubble pops up and states that windows has detected a spyware infection and click here to download the antivirus. when clicked it started downloading again.  for fear of making it worse i stopped it.  Ive tried spy subtract and avast programs to try to get rid of it but with no success.  i also think it affects my browser when i do a google search and click on the link it just opens another google tab.  I warn you i am not very computer literate but not sure what to do or how to go about getting rid of it.  any ideas?Start Free Trial
