thanks guru, that's what i did on my personal laptop, but i Guess that i have found the problem.
the SBS 2008 and by default it uses remote.domainname.xxx as domain name. i meant previously when on sbs 2003, it was different and to be honest i din't have that remot.mydomain.xxx valid, so what i did is that i have created a new MX record redirecting the mail flow to the remote.mydomain.com, and it worked like charm. i

Well you have to install the certificate properly. emote
1.- Run IE explorer as an administrator.
Right click on the icon and run as administrator.
2.-Go to the site where you can dounload your certificate.
Example: https://hq.youserver.com/r
3.- If you don't have a trusted certificate, On the certificates warning, Click on "Continue to this website (not recommended). "
4.- Click on the certificate on the right side of the address bar then click on view certificate.
5.- Click on install certificate follow the wizard.
6.- ONLIKE XP, Choose Radio button: Place all certificate in the following store and click on browse.
7.- Choose "Trusted root Certification Authorities", then click on next then finish.
That should do it.
