Browse All TopicsI tried setting up snort etc on linux and got no where so i tried this one i was told that was easy to use called easy ids. i have installed it on a p4 2gig machine with one network card. i configured the cards as a static ip address on my home lan network of 192.168.4.10 that is the address of the ids, and the internal network is 192.168.4.xxx, i cant seem to capture packets with it. what am i missing what steps do i need to do. it comes with NTOP, barnyard as well. how do i get this working because i want to learn more about ids in real time.
