Internet traffic shaper
I am looking for a software package that will allow me to perform traffic shaping. I specifically need the ability to control connections on a granular level per ip address and per service type. I would strongly prefer this to be a Linux (Debian), x86 only, application with a web based interface.
The reason for needing this: We have a limited bandwidth connection with several hundred vpn clients connecting. I need to limit the amount of bandwidth that a single connection can use so it does not overwhelm us.
I would also like some type of minimal IDS if possible.
I will be running Bandwidthd to monitor the connection traffic unless there is a recommendation for a better one.
This will be running on a box outside our firewall with 2 network cards setup as a transparent bridge.
