I have a DSL connection and a hunger to host web, FTP, and e-mail on on of my computers. Unfortunatly, I need to prove to my father (I'm only 17, and his company does own the DSL line even thogh my company uses it more) that I can set-up my server so that there is NO threat to HIS system. We have a 6 computer peer-to-peer (maybe upgrading to a Win2k Server-Client soon) private network behind a DSL router with a static IP. Are there any web sites I can visit that outline why only computers that are explicitly mapped from the router are at risk? Which books are good? Does anyone here have any input on this matter? I would love get some answers on this one.
