Undeletable file

An 'innocent' pop up came up whilst browsing on the net and when I clicked on it it brought me toa sex site. It has now stored itself on my URL and I cannot get rid of it even when I go through the process of

run
hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\internet\explorer\typed urls

It was not a typed URL so I cannot delete it. How can I get rid of it?

hi,
have u tried deleting ur temporary internet files...

[to do so..

open ur internet options (via control panel) - on the "General" tab - under "Temporary Internet Files" there r 2 buttons - click on "Settings" - then near the bottom of the window tht this opens - click on "View Files" - this opens ur temporary internet files folder - delete EVERYTHING in this folder]

after this - c if it's still there...

Remember that also, URLs visited are stored by AutoComplete go to internet options > content and click on autocomplete and choose 'clear forms'.  select ok and wait for it to complete (can take a while).  Then immediatley reboot your PC without loading IE and it should have gone.

DrWarezz hit it on his second post, goto ........ Tools -- internet options --- clear history, this will get rid of ALL address in the address bar.

What is Spyware?

Spyware is ANY SOFTWARE which uses a user's Internet connection in the without the user knowledge.Allthough Software Firms and Web pages that launch this "code" on your PC are required to ask your permission many dont! ANY SOFTWARE communicating across the Internet from Your PC without your knowledge is guilty of information theft and is rightfully termed: Spyware.

What is Adware?

Adware is basically any application in which advertising banners are displayed while the program is running. This is built in to the coding of the Software that delivers th Adds to your desktop, These adds are either dislayed as pop up windows or through a Banner on the software front end. Many people believe that the revenue earned from this is justification for recouping development costs, which then dosnt need to be passed to the user.
