It's not quite smart to delete all CLASSES from the registry. I am absolutely flabbegasted (HOW THE HECK DO YOU WRITE THAT!?) that your machine can still start. Try MS office now, guess that wouldn't work
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI had many entries of CLASS ID in my registry ( for example under 'distribution units' and 'activeX').
I simply deleted all of them , restarted the computer and everything works fine.
Can i use this method instead of using ADAWARE or SPYBOT ?
How can i know what to delete from the registry without using these software ?

I'm talking about this class ID for example.
You can see it in the source of www.hotbar.com
<OBJECT ID='HBInst' width=0 height=0 align='center' CLASSID='CLSID:69FD62B1-02
ClassID's like you mentioned in the registry are for programs that tell your browser what to do. The <OBJECT> tag is used to instruct the Web browser to download and install the contents of different programs. An entry like this
<OBJECT ID='HBInst' width=0 height=0 align='center' CLASSID='CLSID:69FD62B1-02
I still say that instead of playing with registry use some professional tool. It is not good to edit registry by yourself, system can crash anytime even in some cases it wont even startup. Still want to continue then take an advice to backup user.dat under %WINDIR% and system.dat (same folder) before editing registry yourself.

Sorry Dude, you made a big mistake. Class IDs do not mean that spywares are installed on your system. Actually all ActiveX components like one embedded in your webpages or applications (in both cases of development and use) use class IDs for there reference i.e. to map to plug-in or .dll file etc.
Next, softwares like AdAware and SpyBot are not a pattern recognition software i.e. they can list a spyware if it is listed in there database file. This database file is made by inputs from various users around the world, whom by using the software discover that it is a spyware and report it or either by listing those programs which openly warn user (like some file sharing ones) that they will use ads to generate revenue. In both the cases there is no formulae. Ofcourse you can make your own such utility but it will require you thorough reference in this area.
