Openoffice is using the xml fileformat oasis (rename any openoffice file to filename.zip and open it...) shouldn't be already be hacked by the usual suspects. Openoffice 2.0 is simply too new.
Checked a file: once plain text once encrypted, compared with windiff:
<manifest:encryption-data manifest:checksum-type="SH
<manifest:algorithm manifest:algorithm-name="B
<manifest:key-derivation manifest:key-derivation-na
</manifest:encryption-data
There is Blowfish in use: this sounds to me like: Forget it ... sorry.
