The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution.   • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Simple iptables config question

I have an FC4 box.  I am completely new to iptables.  I have a server that will allow public access to certain ports from the outside and I've been able to open those up easily using Fedora's "Security Level".  However, I now need something a little more specific.  I need to open up Samba access, but only to a specific IP address (we'll say 100.100.100.100).  Can you give me a step-by-step to get this set up?  I looked at /etc/sysconfig/iptables, but it doesn't look like anything I've seen on line.  The syntax seems different than what I've seen for iptables.  Maybe I'm wrong.  Start Free Trial
