my situation may not be spam and/or be recognized as spam. It is single e-mail but is repeated 2-3 times a day under different domains. Will a spam fighter stop one message?
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI am getting this message in my OE about 3 times a day. They all have different domains. I block each one in the message rules, but here comes another one with a different domain. It is basically the only "junk" e-mail I get. My ISP has a spam filter but it lets this one by for some reason.
any ideas?

Try Spam Bully. http://www.spambully.com/
It uses Bayesian filters which calculates the probability that an email is spam and then blocks it. As you receive email and junk them it will intelligent learn what you like and don't like and add weight to what should be blocked or not. So it might not block those emails right off the bat but after a while they will be gone.
If email is important to you, and you don't want your anti-spam product to erase legitimate emails, you need to get "Brightmail" - but it's expensive - several hundred dollars per year.
No other anti-spam product works the same way - so everything except brightmail will destroy the occasional real email - which of course is not acceptable if you're a businessperson (laywer, doctor, whatever).
Since I am only getting one unwanted e-mail (it is just the same e-mail 3-4 times a day under a different domain), I went ahead with the message rule tools in Outlook Express and this e-mail is now being auto sent to the delete box. If the spam gets really bad, I'll have to go to some spam blocker. I have a friend who gets 200 a day and he uses nothing.....I'll refer him to the links above.
