I currently have 3 desktops and 1 notebook. When I first became aware that someone had hacked into my system is when everything I said in private IM's or in e-mails were being said back to me from a person who would not have access to this information. About 4 years ago, I had my first computer it has windows 98 second edition on it... I had no knowledge of firewalls, hackers, trojans or anti-viruses.
I met a person in yahoo games and continued chatting with them through yahoo messenger and email. On one particular occassion this person said " lets try this " he sent me a download. After that I started noticing strange things. When I would type something to this person even though I deleted it before I hit enter this person repeated it back to me. Everything I said / had said in an IM or email to anyone was being put in a Yahoo ID. I noticed this one particular number always joining me in a game no matter what room I was in on yahoo and asking me if I have a stalker.
This stalker/ hacker can see what I type in a notepad, see what I type in an email or Im message. Or whatever I am doing on my computer. Since I found out about the stalker/ hacker. I have put an antivirus and firewall on my computer. I have two firewalls to be exact. 1. a hardware firewall and 1. a software firewall. Any attempts to get away from this person has failed. He is always able to find out where I am and what I am doing and uses it . Even makes up yahoo ids like " you can't stop me. " " You won't catch me " with the same numbers on the end.
When I tried deleting emails and making new ones. He changed the security question on those too. So minutes after making them myself , my husband & my mother n law were not able to get into our accounts.
Since this began I've contacted the police ( who told me since he hasn't stolen anything but my privacy ( meaning money from me ) they couldn't do anything until he made a move ) I've notified many security agents in hopes of getting rid of him , contacted my isp ( I've had many since then ) still get the same reponse . They can change my account but can't track him. I've since gotten rid of the 98 model bought brand new computers and still have had no success in getting rid of him . At the very least I thought he'd be bored by now and give up harassing me but it seems he is easily entertained and cannot accept when his company or presence is not wanted.
Somehow he always seems to manage to find me and harass me. At one time when we spoke he told me if he could he would spend all day with me. I laughed it off. A few moments after that he told me if I ever ignored him that he would find me. He has managed to make me paranoid, and to run off anyone I had contact with or might come to know in any yahoo game room, aol, msn so on and so forth. I never add anyone now. And I always check every file before I accept anyone ( which is very few nowadays) I am even scared to let my children on here. I know this man has found out my birthday, ss# and address by now. But I still don't know how to get rid of him other than disappear in the witness relocation program ( not joking but short of doing that I've done everything else )
I am at a loss as what to do next . And since this has been ongoing for 4 years its a tad exhausting trying to get my privacy back. My computer every time I scan it comes up clean. I've contacted Microsoft to ask them if they can tell me exactly what files are true window files. They said there are too many to tell me.
I've scanned my system with everything I can think of. I've closed almost all ports. Even ones I use on occassion through my firewall. I remember vaguely the file he sent me Had an M in it . When I couldn't get it to open I just assumed that my machine was too old ( rmember 98 SE ) to be able to open it. I didn't realize then that he had gained access. What I can't seem to figure out is how he keeps getting in. As I've said I have NIS2006 on all machines. They are all in stealth mode. I have windows xp home edition SP2 on all machines..
I've done so many reformatts I can't even begin to tell you how many . ONly put the limited amount of programs on my machine and I even went so far as to change every id and email address on yahoo that I had. Still he found me.
Other than throw these computers away and never get on the net again can anyone tell me something new that I might try to figure out how to get my privacy back?
